'twas the week before frog week

Twas the week before Frog Week, and all through the states
Many students were stirring, awaiting their fates

The shot glasses packed in their bags with care
In excitement that Frog Week would soon be there

The students so ready for warm cheesy bread
As visions of Sylly Week danced in their head

Lost were the thoughts of MyMadison stress
And instead thoughts of sweet Natty Light, I digress

And Frogs oh so eager to test out ice breakers
Unaware that their “tadpoles” would instead attend ragers

Reuniting with all of our good friends from nova
Hoping that Frog week will never be ova

The parties all bumping, the kegs two-feet wide
As Patron Saint Frat-Boy stumbles inside

Lost freshman in Forrest, covered in beer spillage
Just trying to wander their way back to The Village

Smiles never dull, spirit never squandered
With heads held high, through South Main we wander

Warm sunny days spent outside on the Quad
Candid laughing Instas captioned “Back with the squad!”

Bring on the chlorine of that crisp Aspen pool
College education never did feel so cool

Jimmy Johns, how my tongue savors your sweet taste
How I’ve yearned for good sandwiches delivered with haste

Not a mention of school, not one textbook in sight
Just good people who know to celebrate the night

On Saturday we loudly shout, “J-M-U Dukes”
And come Sunday morning, it’s more like J-M-U pukes

So with impatience, we wait, for the week to arrive,
To return to the promised land where college kids thrive

And alas when the time comes, we’ll scream with our might,
"Happy Frog Week to all!!" ...make good choices tonight.
